History

Oak Trail Shores is a residential community located east of Tin Top Hwy,  about four miles northwest of Granbury in unincorporated north central Hood County.  Construction of this development on Lake Granbury began in the 1970s.  The first census figures for the area recorded a population of 1,750 in 1990. That number grew to over 3,000 in 2023. Oak Trail Shores has its own volunteer fire department that also services the surrounding areas as well.
